Introducing myself
Whether you’re here meeting me virtually for the first time, you arrived here via Chelsea Bravo Studio, you’re a family member or a friend - welcome.
InneSpace is an iteration of both my creative and spiritual practice combined. Arriving here and being able to put into words this long held feeling and vision took many years.
I have a background in fashion design, textiles and art. I designed and produced collections for 10 years before heeding an inner call to transform my work and allow creativity to move and expand through me in new ways.
My interest in universal consciousness and metaphysics has been with me from as early as I can remember. No older than 5 years old I can recall asking questions of myself such as, “Why am I here?” and noticing that I was in fact experiencing my existence from within my body and not as the body. Did I have the words for this then? No. But I viscerally remember feeling the sensations of this realisation.
My desire to have a relationship with God led me to Christianity and I was a happily devout Christian for 10 years. However, over time my questions and curiosities around life and our human existence returned and I began yearning to understand and know God for myself outside of the Bible, church and pastors. Simultaneously, I was moving towards more of a universal perspective; driven by a sense that there wasn’t one way to know and be in relationship with the creator, with the Source of all life. I wanted to respect everyones experiences of the Divine and not nullify them because they were not Biblical or different from my own experience.
Down the rabbit hole I went.
I was no longer dancing and so I started practicing yoga asana for the physicality of it and also because it just felt so good! I spent time with Zen Buddhist teachings, the initial books I remember reading that exposed me to new concepts were Wabi Sabi; The Japanese Art of Impermanence by Andrew Juniper and Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hanh, and became an avid listener of Tara Brach’s podcasts. I delved into astrology, indigenous spirituality, alternative holistic healing practices, and metaphysics. As I grew in my asana practice my interest in yoga philosophy and teachings peaked and started to become the foundation for how I was living my life. I entered these subjects with trepidation at first but as I grew comfortable with the information my whole world opened up in new and exciting ways.
As I began to understand and integrate all that I was learning, applying the teachings and the practices, my life radically shifted.
Gradually, in these practices, I found myself anew. They guided me into understanding and knowing myself deeply and transformed my perception and experience of God. It amuses me to say this but in ways the practices and teachings have become my therapists and teachers in the School of Life.
As I step into spaces and sessions with others I come from this place. A journey that has brought me deeply into myself and the cosmic mysteries; intimately connected to life and compassion for all that it means to be human.
It is my intent to be of service through the utilisation of my knowledge, skills, creativity, and experience. To guide people into the Well that is the Self and to excavate the wisdom that lies within us and around us, simply waiting for us to connect, tune in and listen.
I hope you will join me.
